a) The Product
Each industry has unique needs and demands the specific solution in its own domain for daily operations SAP Retail is a completely integrated retailing system for managing POS data to generate various insights and analytics and to monitor and produce precise reports. It maps the entire set of business processes required for competitive assortment strategies, different retail formats and ECR driven logistics distribution. provides functions necessary for modeling retail business processes. The retailing processes enable you to control and coordinate the entire value chain and thus react swiftly to changes in consumer behavior.

b) Development Plan Overview
Phase I
  • During the first phase, all needed tools will be gathered and installed and all requirements specifications understood.
Phase II
  • During the second phase, all major analysis activities are set in place. The system architecture is defined and all major design activities are set in place for all important functionalities to be implemented.
Phase III
  • During the third phase, the unit tests and system integration is performed. Any issues detected are fixed.
Phase IV
  • Finally, in the transition phase the new system is fully implemented and data from the old system is communicated to the new system. Management will then be able to start monitoring the business using various MIS reports.

c) Quality Control
Program quality is maintained by enforcing developers to follow defined SAP naming standards. Development Quality Control procedures require Development Standard Education and Standard Enforcement. This will :
  • Provide an opportunity to Standardize ABAP Program Code that was developed to bring code to current Development Standards.
  • Ensure that developers follow SAP naming standards and maintain a change log of existing or new developments.
  • Improve performance of programs by checking database query and flow logic program.
d) Project Manager Function
The Project Manager motivates the team to focus on the goal of the project. In addition, he/she distributes materials, sets priorities, and coordinates interactions between customers and users. Analysts are set in place and are responsible for providing  analysis of the product. Testers are set in place to set up and execute the test and to compile the test results.
